Made in Texas The WCDE-6-4MHL mobile light tower from Larson Electronics is a towable lighting package powered by a liquid-cooled diesel engine turning a 6,000-watt generator. With four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps at the top of the 30-foot rotating mast, this unit will illuminate a 6-7 acre area continuously without refueling for up to 60 hours. The light tower is suitable for construction sites, outdoor events, farming operations, emergency camps, perimeter lighting and remote locations without access to grid power. The WCDE-6-4MHL is a towable light tower package that produces enough light to illuminate an area up to 7 acres in size. This unit contains a liquid-cooled diesel engine powering a 6,000 watt generator, which supplies the current to four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps. This unit can run uninterrupted for 60 hours straight without refueling and includes a telescoping light mast which can elevate the four metal halide lamps to a height of 30 feet. This mobile floodlight package is ideal for emergency services, large scale event illumination, construction, mining, industrial operations and anywhere an extended operation capable mobile lighting solution is needed. The WCDE-6-4MHL mobile light tower incorporates a long list of impressive features. The diesel engine is a Kubota unit that operates at 1800 rpm. This engine features a four-position keyed switch and glow plugs (preheat, off, run and start). A 30 gallon fuel tank allows the engine to operate for 60 hours continuously without refueling. The 6,000 watt generator is capable of producing 120/240 volt current at 60 Hz. The following receptacles can be found on this unit: (1) 120 VAC 20 Amp GFCI duplex outlets (NEMA 5-20R type) and (1) 240 VAC 30 Amp twistlock outlets (NEMA L6-30R type). Lights: The lighting system on this unit is comprised of four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps attached to the end of the three-stage, rotating light mast. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern capable of illuminating a minimum of 5 acres. Each floodlight is supported with a round aluminum reflector, tempered glass lens, silicone gaskets for moisture and dust protection and on/off switches. Controls: The operation system for this unit is a 15A control panel within the light tower enclosure. A 30A start limit breaker is available, which assures no load condition exists before starting. The enclosure is constructed of steel and is UV/fade resistant, as well as high temperature cured. Telescoping Boom: The telescoping boom consists of three sections extending up to 30 feet through the use of a self-braking winch and allows for rotating the lights 359 degrees. The telescoping boom is constructed of tubular steel to resist rusting and corrosion. This unit is equipped with single lifting eye and fork pockets. An automatic locking system may be used to secure the system during transportation. The cord on this mast is coiled and retractable. Housing: All of the operating components are housed within a protective compartment constructed of 14 gauge steel and designed to provide airflow for cooling. The design and construction of this enclosure helps this unit operate at a low 71 Db noise level @ 23 ft. The entire unit can be loaded and unloaded onto trucks via forklift sleeves. The entire unit is mounted onto a two wheel trailer with a 3000-lb leaf spring axle. A standard two inch ball coupling and standard safety chains with S-hooks allow for easy hookup and towing. |
